KUALA LUMPUR, 26 DECEMBER 2025 — Chery Malaysia is proud to announce a major milestone for its Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) lineup.
Chery’s TIGGO 7 PHEV delivered an exceptional 94.68-point performance — a score that stands well above the industry norm — firmly positioning the model as a best-in-class contender and a proud 5-Star ASEAN NCAP achiever, giving Malaysians even greater confidence in its safety and engineering excellence.
The TIGGO 7 PHEV’s total score was based on the four assessment categories under the ASEAN NCAP 2021–2025 protocol with the breakdown of the score is as follows: the Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) category with the full score of 40.00 points, the Child Occucpant Protection (COP) category with 17.18 points, the Safety Assist (SA) category with 20.00 points and the Motorcycle Assist (MS) category with 17.50 points.
The TIGGO 7 PHEV is equipped with standard fitment of eight airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Seat Belt Reminder (SBR) for both frontal and rear seats occupants, rear seats occupant detection, Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) City, AEB Inter-Urban, Blind Spot Detection (BSD) for both driver- and passenger-side of the vehicle, Adaptive High Beam (AHB), Parking Pilot (PP), ISOFIX for child seats and Child Presence Detection (CPD). Additionally, the TIGGO 7 PHEV is also equipped with Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Lane Keeping Assist (LKA) and AEB for Motorcycle as standard features in all its variants.

ASEAN NCAP and MIROS have announced that in the recent assessment of the TIGGO 7 PHEV vehicle delivered an incredible performance with impressive safety results. Notably, the TIGGO 7 PHEV achieved a perfect score of 40.00 points in the Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) category.
Chery has further distinguished itself by integrating Child Presence Detection (CPD) technology in the TIGGO 7 PHEV. This system proactively alerts the driver to check the rear seats if the rear doors were opened prior to the start of a journey.

The current ASEAN NCAP 2021–2025 assessment protocol encompasses four assessment domains, with Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) accounting for 40.00 points of the overall score, and Child Occupant Protection (COP), Safety Assist (SA), and Motorcycle Assist (MS) each contributing 20.00 points.
