TIGGO 7 SETS A NEW BENCHMARK WITH FOUR TOP SAFETY RATINGS WORLDWIDE

March 10, 2026

KUALA LUMPUR, 10 MARCH 2026 – The TIGGO 7 has solidified its position as the most comprehensively awarded SUV in its segment, becoming the only Chinese-brand vehicle to secure the highest five-star safety ratings from all four leading global automotive safety authorities the European New Car Assessment Programme (Euro NCAP), Australasian New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP), New Car Assessment Program for Southeast Asian Countries (ASEAN NCAP) and China New Car Assessment Program (C-NCAP). The achievement places the TIGGO 7 in a league of its own, paired with its exceptional engineering, advanced technology and unwavering focus on passenger protection for both families and individual drivers.

At the end of 2025, the TIGGO 7 achieved a landmark accomplishment by earning a five-star ASEAN NCAP rating with a record-setting score of 94.68 points, the highest in the organisation’s history since its founding in 2011.

It further distinguished itself by securing perfect scores in both Adult Occupant Protection and Safety Assist, making it the only plug-in hybrid model to obtain a ‘double perfect score’
.
Designed to address Southeast Asia’s challenging traffic conditions, often characterised by dense motorcycle movement and dynamic traffic flow. The TIGGO 7’s L2+ intelligent driver assistance system includes enhanced blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert. These systems automatically activate at speeds above 15 km/h to help reduce the risk of collisions during lane changes or when opening doors. Complementing these features is a strong passive safety foundation, with a body structure made from over 61% high-strength steel and a front aluminium anti-collision beam designed to preserve cabin integrity even during severe impacts.

In October 2025, the TIGGO 7 continued its global momentum when it received a five-star rating from Euro NCAP, delivering balanced performance across key safety categories including Adult Occupant Protection, Child Occupant Protection, Vulnerable Road User Protection and Safety Assist. Just two months later, ANCAP released its latest results confirming that the Australia-spec TIGGO 7 CSH maintained the same strong performance demonstrated in Europe and secured a five-star ANCAP safety rating.

With Euro NCAP and ANCAP sharing similar testing protocols, achieving dual recognition within such a short period demonstrates the TIGGO 7’s ability to meet and exceed some of the world’s strictest safety standards, no matter where it is sold.

The TIGGO 7’s global safety recognition reflects Chery’s long-standing commitment to safety engineering. The model adopts a cage-type energy-absorbing body structure, with high- strength steel accounting for more than 60 per cent of the vehicle’s construction, while critical areas are reinforced with 1500 MPa hot-formed steel. Eight airbags are also provided as standard across the lineup to enhance occupant protection.

In addition, the TIGGO 7 integrates a range of intelligent safety technologies designed to support drivers in real-world driving scenarios. The Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) system detects vehicles and pedestrians ahead before applying brake pressure when needed. While the 540-degree transparent chassis view provides a comprehensive view of the vehicle’s surroundings, helping drivers eliminate blind spots and manoeuvre with greater confidence.

From China to Europe, Australia and Southeast Asia, the TIGGO 7’s strong performance across global safety programmes demonstrates Chery’s commitment to delivering vehicles that combine advanced technology with high safety standards, ensuring greater protection, confidence and peace of mind for drivers and families on every journey.
