KUALA LUMPUR, 26 JUNE 2026 – Three years after entering the Malaysian market, Chery has established a strong presence in the country with 60 dealerships nationwide, a portfolio of 10 vehicle models, and continued investments that reinforce its long-term dedication to Malaysia.

Since its return to Malaysia in 2023, Chery has steadily expanded its footprint through a growing dealer network, an increasingly diverse product lineup and customer-centric initiatives.
The latest addition to its portfolio, the TIGGO 9, marks Chery’s tenth model introduced in Malaysia, further demonstrating the brand’s commitment to offering Malaysians a comprehensive range of SUVs that combine advanced technology, safety, design and value.
A significant milestone in Chery’s local journey is the development of the Chery Smart Auto Industrial Park in Lembah Beringin, Selangor. Following the successful topping-out its first phase, the RM2.2 billion, 200-acre facility is set to become Chery’s largest assembly plant in Malaysia, strengthening local manufacturing capabilities while supporting regional exports and reinforcing Malaysia’s strategic role within Chery’s ASEAN operations.
Malaysia’s growth mirrors Chery’s accelerating global momentum. Supported by continued investment in research and development, advanced technologies and expanding manufacturing capabilities, Chery continues to strengthen its position as one of the world’s fastest-growing automotive brands, serving millions of customers across more than 120 countries.
The Chery Group believes that the automotive industry thrives on competition, and the group welcomes fair competition. Ultimately, the strongest endorsement of any brand comes from its customers whose confidence in its products will continue to be the backbone of its growth in Malaysia.
Beyond business growth, Chery continues to invest in fostering meaningful relationships with its customers through the brand’s With Chery With Love (WCWL) community. Both globally and in Malaysia, WCWL has become an important platform that connects owners through lifestyle, family and community activities.
Chery’s dedication to responsible growth is equally reflected in its Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) initiatives. Together with the International Union for Conservation of Nature
(IUCN) and the Malaysian Nature Society (MNS), Chery launched Cherish the Nature, an 18- month mangrove restoration programme along the North-Central Selangor Coast earlier this year.
The effort brought together conservation experts and communities in the area through mangrove restoration activities, contributing to the protection of one of Malaysia’s most ecologically significant coastal ecosystems while supporting long-term environmental sustainability.
Chery’s commitment to Malaysia also extends beyond its automotive products, with the brand continuing to support local communities through meaningful initiatives. In 2025, following the fire incident in Putra Heights, Selangor, Chery responded swiftly by providing 50 Chery vehicles for affected residents for a period of one month, helping them ease their mobility needs. The initiative reflects Chery’s belief that a strong brand is built not only through innovation and products, but also through genuine care and support for the local communities it serves.
As Chery enters its next phase of growth, the company is focused on growing its product portfolio, strengthening local manufacturing capabilities, enhancing customer ownership experiences and investing in sustainable development, reaffirming its long-term commitment to Malaysia and the future of mobility.
